Big Update: Version 4.0 of 1973, CMX, and Event Horizon is Live!

I’m excited to finally release major new updates to three of my most-loved plugins: 1973, CMX, and Event Horizon. Version 4.0 brings them fully into the modern era while preserving the sound and workflow that engineers rely on.

Native Apple Silicon

These plugins now run natively on all Apple Silicon machines—fast, efficient, and without Rosetta translation. Intel Macs remain fully supported as well.

Early Windows-on-ARM Support

Microsoft is pushing Win-on-ARM hard, and I want to be ready. These builds include early ARM64EC/ARM-aware support so the plugins work today and have a clean path forward as the platform matures.

Retina / HiDPI Graphics

Every interface has been refreshed with high-resolution, @2x artwork designed to look razor-sharp on Retina and HiDPI displays. The plugins render at the correct scale with crisp text, sharp detail, and a clean, modern feel.

Oversampling Powered by Voxengo R8Brain

Oversampling now uses the Voxengo R8Brain library—one of the cleanest, most accurate resampling engines available. This means:
• dramatically reduced aliasing
• transparent up/down sampling
• higher fidelity at high drive levels

Vastly Improved VST3 Support

The VST3 versions have been completely overhauled for better DAW compatibility, automation handling, and overall reliability.

New: Drag-and-Drop License Installation

Licenses can now be installed by simply dragging your license file onto the running plugin UI.
• No host restart required
• One drop activates all plugin formats
• Works instantly and eliminates the old copy/paste workflow
• Existing licenses in their original locations continue to work without change

These are free updates for all existing customers, and—as always—downloadable 100% functional trials are available for anyone who wants to take them for a spin.
