Rhodes Music Releases Custom Shop MK8 'Glacial' and 'Monolith' Editions

Rhodes Music has announced the release of two new limited edition models from their Custom Shop: the MK8 'Glacial' and MK8 'Monolith'. Hand-built in Leeds, UK, these pianos feature distinct cosmetic treatments applied to the standard MK8 architecture. Both models are built to order and available exclusively during a one-month window closing on January 9, 2025. The 'Glacial' model features a hand-engraved transparent hood with a frost motif, revealing an Arctic White harp beneath. The chassis components, including the front panel, cheekblocks, tolex base, and sustain pedal, are finished in Arctic White, contrasted by Frostline Blue inlays and dial caps. The 'Monolith' model utilizes a hand-painted, distressed concrete-effect hood designed to mimic weathered stone. This finish extends to the base and cheekblocks, creating a uniform appearance. It includes Grey Stone-effect finishes on the front panel and cross braces, paired with Machined Silver inlays and slate dial caps. Internally, both pianos retain the technical specifications of the standard MK8, including a 73-note Kluge keyboard and the Rhodes analogue preamp and stereo effects section.
