With the newest generation of motherboard the amount on PCI-e onboard are limited in favor for m.2 and high speed connection ports. It seems that TB4 and 5 are only featured on Intel chipset based motherboards. AMD officially don't test TB connectivity but they may work...
Here's a nice little console. A 4 channel Helios with an F760 compressor. Run 4 channels of drums to an F760 and it should sound great! I guess Paul McCartney owned/ownes this unit.
Everyone raves about the Neve 1073, the Neumann U87, Various converters and cables etc. and don’t get me wrong, mine have their uses but there’s no “magic” in them people keep claiming. So what’s one piece of overrated gear you own that everyone pretends to love...
I recently upgraded to an RME Babyface Pro, which is a great interface albeit pretty old. I'm really happy with it. However, the only outboard gear I have is a DBX 266xs compressor that I'm not currently using. I'm looking to add a mic preamp to my home studio setup, and...
Apologies for such a dull post but can anyone recommend a UK based insurer for a home loacted recording studio? We had a policy that covered home contents which included outbuildings. In our case one of the outbuildings is a recording studio, this was fine, all the contents ...
Hello Friends! This converter looks very interesting but I I cant find much information about it. Anyone that own it and maybe made some loopback test?:-) Thanks in advance!
This might sound like a strange question, but I own a Roland HP603 digital piano. It has 256 preset sounds in it. I want to record a song with one of these presets, but the song is too difficult to play using the fully weighted keys of my Roland. I need a semi weighted key...
I would like to hear opinions on this subject. Why? Because I went and purchased some top shelf expensive compressors, reverb and EQ plugins and when I upgraded my mac and they started causing high CPU issues I was so worried and then I replaced them with the stock free Pro...
Hello, all - Studio mystery: Unable to get sound through one path on right channel in studio. Any help solving this would be much appreciated by the expert detectives here. We are unable to get audio through the right channel main (ATC) speaker, when routing through the...
Hi there, I’m looking to replace the stock bridge pickup on my MIJ Jazzmaster with Pure Vintage 65 pickups. I’m coming from a Jaguar with a modern humbucker in the bridge. I play through a Big Muff and the Pure Vintage pickup in the bridge position isn’t cutting it for ...

Hello All, Trust you are all doing well and staying busy! I have started a new job where the majority of my work will be recording and mixing on-site classical performances. Lots of Organ, Strings, and Choral. The office I am moving into is significantly smaller than my...
Through my job, I can use Audition Pro, but I already have and use Harrison Mixbus and Presonus Studio One. I'm hesitant about learning Audition if it only does what I can already do, or doesn't have a feature that is is better than similar features in other programs. Would ...
Just curious if you own both what’s your go to source for one of their mic pres? Are you using the Neve predominantly for vocals, or the API for guitar and drums. If you’re going direct to record bass do you like the sound of the API better over the Neve? Etc Thanks
The f# above middle C worked fine yesterday but produce no sound today. Neither does it send midi note on/off, but...it does send AT. Odd. Anyway...open it up and do a clean-up is next step?
I know that knowing your speakers is key, and when you migrate to a larger pre-mix studios or dubbing stages, you need to know your room by comparison. That said, I find that some speakers are better for music production and others are better for theater sound. Some speakers ...
Hello Everyone. I think I need a controller for playing/riding automation curves whilst mixing. I use Studio One 7, DP, and Ableton Live. I will mostly be mixing in Studio One, however. I believe the process is to MIDI assign the controller to a parameter, like the send of ...
