ABmyMix Has a New Patchbay Planner...
Tuesday December 2, 2025. 10:24 AM , from Gearslutz
You may have come across my free audio comparison app, ABmyMIX. I've added a new page to the site: PatchPlan ABmyMIX solved a problem for me, so I decided to share it. The same is true of PatchPlan. Why? I found the planning phase of building or reorganising a patchbay cumbersome and confusing with simple spreadsheet apps, and even the most popular patchbay label designers don't help that much with the brainstorming part of figuring out where everything should go. So I made PatchPlan over the past week or so. So far, I've found that it's making things easier for me so I don't see why I would want to keep it to myself. It's free to use and always will be. Please let me know if you have any comments or suggestions. Features: Choose a number of patchpoints - currently 16 (XLR), 48 (TRS) or 72/96 (TT) Organise your patchbay with labels, colours, categories and notes Set normalling mode for each patchpoint Filter to quickly show patchpoints that match key words Drag and drop in the faceplate or table to reorder Design label with custom strip dimensions, fonts, borders and label colours Merge/split cells in the label strip (e.g. for L/R pairs) Save and load patchbay setups as.json files Planning Label design Print preview
