Tuesday November 25, 2025. 10:58 PM , from Gearslutz
The Franklin MP-10 is a compact microphone preamplifier designed to allow microphones to be used with guitar pedals and effects. Functionality: It converts low-level microphone signals to instrument-level signals, providing proper impedance and phantom power (48V) for various microphone types (ribbon, dynamic, condenser). Ever wanted to run a microphone through your pedals? Throw a live delay on a snare, thicken vocals with a lush chorus, or obliterate a sax with your favorite fuzz... With a super transparent, high-headroom mic preamp and phantom power on board, we've done all the signal conversion and gain staging for you. Just plug in your mic and discover the pedal sounds that were hiding in plain sight. Features:Mic In (Balanced XLR) Mic Thru (Balanced XLR, duplicate of input signal) Output (¼" unbalanced instrument jack to pedals) DC Power (9V, center negative) Gain control (12-60dB) Output Level LED indicator 48V Indicator LED 9V Indicator LED PAD switch (attenuates by 20dB) Ground (GND) switch (alleviates hum from ground loops) Polarity (Ø) switch (inverts signal phase) +48V Switch (engages phantom power) Typical use cases include:Performing vocals or mic’d instruments live on stage through an effect pedalboard, providing both an effected and clean signal to the FOH engineer. Used as a high-quality standalone mic preamp, without effect pedals.
