Antelope Audio Launches Zenith 2 USB-C Audio Interface with Console-Grade Preamps and Built-in DSP

Tuesday November 18, 2025. 04:00 PM , from KVR Audio
Antelope Audio has announced the release of the Zenith 2, an entry-level, bus-powered USB-C audio interface. Designed to bring the company's signature professional conversion and preamp technology to musicians, producers, podcasters, and streamers in smaller studio or mobile setups, the Zenith 2 is its most affordable interface yet. The interface aims to bridge the gap between high-end studios and bedroom environments by combining effortless operation with professional-grade sound. It includes state-of-the-art AD/DA converters offering 32-bit/192 kHz resolution and a dynamic range of up to 123 dB. This kind of dynamic performance is what allows for the capture of subtle textures and depth often lost in typical entry-level gear—it's like hearing the difference between a high-quality master copy and a slightly muddy tape. Professional Features on a Budget At the heart of the Zenith 2 are two Discrete 6-transistor microphone preamps, which Antelope Audio says are identical to the console-inspired architecture found in its flagship interfaces, such as the Orion Studio. These preamps deliver an expansive 75 dB of clean gain, which is plenty of juice to run even 'hungry' dynamic microphones often favored by streamers and podcasters, potentially eliminating the need for an external booster. Beyond the preamps, the interface also integrates real-time DSP effects, which can be a significant workflow helper. Users can track and monitor with zero perceptible latency using the Tube-Opto Compressor, Sky EQ, and De-Esser. These effects are controlled simply via a single, intuitive OFF-1-2-3 intensity dial, allowing for quick tone sculpting from clean to bold with minimal fuss. Connectivity and Versatility The Zenith 2 is built for a wide range of uses, supporting class-compliant, bus-powered connectivity. This means it can work driver-free across Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android devices, though custom low-latency Mac and Windows drivers are also available for traditional studio workflows when they are needed. For content creators and streamers, a built-in Loopback function effortlessly blends mic audio, music, and system audio into a single feed, making professional-quality live content straightforward to achieve. Furthermore, the unit includes two independent TRS headphone outputs, each with its own volume control and enough gain to competently drive high-impedance headphones, which is a big plus for monitoring accuracy. Key features include: Conversion: Class-leading AD/DA with up to 123 dB dynamic range and 32-bit/192 kHz resolution. Preamps: Two fully Discrete 6-transistor preamps with 75 dB gain, supporting dynamic mics, condensers, and instruments (48V phantom power, Hi-Z, line inputs). Real-Time DSP: Integrated Tube-Opto Compressor, Sky EQ, and De-Esser with zero perceptible latency, controlled via a simple 4-step intensity dial. Streaming: Built-in loopback for seamless mixing of mic, music, and system audio for professional live streams and podcasts. Universal Compatibility: Class-compliant, bus-powered USB-C works driver-free on Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android. I/O: Stereo TRS monitor out, two independent TRS headphone outs, and traditional 5-pin MIDI I/O. Pricing and Availability The Zenith 2 is available for preorder now through authorized Antelope Audio dealers and its own website. It is priced at $299 USD / 299 EUR RRP. Antelope Audio expects first shipments to commence in December 2025. Read More
