Toontrack releases metal drum MIDI pack by Leo Margarit
Toontrack announced the release of the Experimental Metal MIDI pack, a collection of grooves and fills by Leo Margarit (Pain of Salvation).

About the Experimental Metal MIDI

In this MIDI pack for EZdrummer and Superior Drummer, Leo Margarit (Pain of Salvation) takes you on a deep dive into the mechanics and inner workings of groove. Venturing off from his foundation in metal while drawing on his background in jazz, classical percussion, Afro-Cuban and more, it’s a veritable outburst of rhythm that pushes progressive, fusion-tinged metal to new frontiers. If you’re after a collection that transcends genre boundaries and inspires you to expand your horizons and experiment, this one’s for you.

Growing up in a musical family, Leo started drumming at the age of three. Later earning degrees from several conservatories in everything from jazz to classical, he’s since drawn from his entire education to forge his own unique approach to groove. Today, he stands as one of the most versatile drummers on the scene – constantly evolving and experimenting with new ways to keep drums in progressive metal fresh.

Featuring a wide range of feels and time signatures – from regular 4/4 to 5/4, 7/8, 9/4, 5/16, 7/16, 13/16 and 15/16 – this MIDI pack will push you to think and write in new ways. From hard-hitting uptempo beats to crushingly heavy, intricate, textured and expressive grooves, it’s got it all.

Without experimentation, music stagnates. This MIDI pack is made for exactly that – experimentation. Let your creative hinges swing wide open and just write. Whether it’s progressive metal or anything in between or beyond, you’ll find your groove here.
