Waves introduces the new 80-Channel Expansion for the eMotion LV1 mixing console
Monday October 27, 2025. 06:32 PM , from Gearslutz
Waves Audio, a global leader in pro audio solutions for both studio and live sound, announces two major updates to its eMotion LV1 live mixing console. First, the newly launched LV1 80-channel Expansion option significantly expands any LV1 64-ch. mixer (including the new Waves LV1 Classic console) to 80 stereo channels, 160 inputs, and 52 buses, opening up LV1 to larger-scale productions. Second, Waves is also releasing the new v16 version of LV1 software, which adds much-requested features to the LV1 platform—including enhanced DSP efficiency, new Scenes and Recall-Safe filters, new Aux Send Flip improvements, and much more. New: LV1 80-Channel Expansion With the new optional 80-channel expansion, any LV1 Classic mixing console or LV1 64-ch. modular system can now easily grow from 64 to 80 mono/stereo channels and from 44 to 52 mono/stereo buses, with 32 auxes including up to 24 monitor aux sends. Because any LV1 channel can be mono (one input) or stereo (two inputs), this expands LV1’s input capacity to a massive 160 inputs. The newly added eight buses can be deployed in either of two ways: Groups mode, which adds eight more audio groups, for a total of 16 audio groups; or Monitors mode, which adds eight monitor aux sends, for a total of 24 monitor auxes. To upgrade to the 80-channel LV1, users will need a 64-channel LV1 (either LV1 Classic or a LV1 64-channel software license), updated to v16 – plus the separately purchased eMotion LV1 80-Channel Expansion license. Parnelli Award-winning FOH engineer Ken “Pooch” Van Druten, who has recently selected the Waves LV1 Classic console for Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson’s U.S. tour, shares his excitement about this release: “This is exciting news. 80 stereo channels and 160 inputs inside this compact console means new possibilities: I would seriously take this small console out on arena tours. This upgrade goes to show how committed Waves are to keep growing the LV1 platform.” Also New: LV1 v16 Software In addition to this 80-channel expansion, Waves is also launching the new v16 version of the eMotion LV1 mixer software – which is available free to all LV1 Classic users – packed with highly anticipated new features and enhancements. These include improved DSP efficiency for even greater processing power; new Scenes & Recall Safe filters; new customizable user keys & shortcuts; Aux Send Flip & Mixer Mode upgrades; and much more. eMotion LV1 v16 features and enhancements:Enhanced DSP efficiency in LV1 Classic: The same internal DSP unit now operates more efficiently, delivering even greater processing power than before. Scenes & Recall Safe filters: You can now decide which parameters get recalled or are made safe per channel, regardless of the loaded scene. New user keys & shortcuts: Includes dedicated Input/Mix buttons in the 80-channel LV1; plus direct mapping of Mixer Modes across all LV1 versions for faster workflows. Aux Send Flip & Mixer Mode improvements:Aux Send Flip can now be set and controlled in ALL windows. The Pan knob now doubles as a Send Pan in Send Flip mode, while retaining Gain and Edit knob functions. Latch Aux Mode keeps you in Flip view, even when navigating elsewhere. Aux Solo now automatically returns you to the aux master, when you un-cue a channel. Additional v16 improvements:You can now import any aux mix from session to session. The Solo button now blinks orange, while the Cue button is solid blue – for instant visual clarity. Cleaner Input Mixer mode for more intuitive A/B input switching. Various improvements to routing menus and navigation, for a smoother workflow Plugin search has been added to the plugin menu. New keyboard shortcuts: Alt now enables instant reset, and Ctrl can now be used for fine-grained parameter adjustments. With these updates and improvements, Waves’ LV1 is now bigger, faster and more powerful than ever: speeding up your workflow, unlocking new live mixing opportunities, and making your LV1 experience better than ever before.
