Sonora Cinematic has announced the release of Aethervox – the latest addition to the developers’ series of Soundbox instruments and one which brings highly emotive cinematic vocal textures to Audiomodern’s free sampler platform.

Aethervox channels the spirit of Sonora Cinematic’s acclaimed Kontakt vocal libraries – Aria Vocalscapes and Emma Legato, to offer a spellbinding palette of cinematic vocal-based textures that deliver emotional depth and atmosphere for film scoring, ambient music, game audio, experimental sound design and beyond.

Dreamlike humming articulations to ethereal ahhs with delicate vibrato, plus intricate combinations of vocal layers, can be explored across 15 carefully designed presets. Each preset has been designed to provide a balance of intimacy and atmosphere, making it equally at home in lush orchestral arrangements or gentle, yet powerful ambient music.

Furthermore, continuously shifting soundscapes abound thanks to Soundbox’s automatic movement switch which allows Aethervox to transition between selected vocal layers. Turning it off allows for full control and hands-on creativity, manually blending between layers to shape evolving phrases that respond directly to the user’s performance.

Aethervox also features non-tempo-synced vocal improvisations over beautiful, suspended chords – these remarkably profound sounds are ideal for scoring scenes that require tension, mystery, or a sense of drifting beauty. In addition, gentle hums that evolve into soaring ahhs, and subtle sibilant sounds are waiting to be explored.
