sonicLAB releases Fundamental 4
Wednesday September 3, 2025. 10:14 AM , from KVR Audio
sonicLAB has released Fundamental 4, a major new version of the additive synthesis plugin featuring an AI Large Language Model prompt interface allowing for control over synthesis parameters through natural language. By using natural language prompts, the AI LLM can translate and unlock the ability to compose sonic gestures that go beyond manual control. The user can prompt the AI with direct, emergent or abstract definitions and the generative AI will apply its interpretation to the Fundamental synthesis engine. Main features and improvements: An AI LLM interface offered with a token based Pay-as-you-go system. No subscriptions. Graphical and script based output support user interaction. You can save the AI prompt and its interpretation along with presets. A dedicated preset bank with LLM prompt examples is offered for demoing the AI implementations as a reference. It comes with a comprehensive manual to give the user as much as preparation as possible to communicate with the AI and to optimally use the tokens. Improvements made on the classic Fundamental user interface, easier manual frequency assignment and new added graphical components. Fundamental 4 comes as standalone application and in VST3, AU plugin formats for OS X and Windows. Price Fundamental 4 is available for £99 GBP in the sonicLAB shop. Fundamental 4 is a free upgrade for registered Fundamental 3 users. A token pack for the AI access can be purchased on the shop for £2.20 GBP (gives the user 150-200 prompt requests) and can be activated directly on the application with the delivered code. A new license purchase of Fundamental 4 will include a pack of tokens by default. More information can be obtained at sonicLAB.
