Sonarworks announces SoundID Reference Latest Update
Sonarworks delivers smoother workflows, expanded headphone support, and stability fixes in latest SoundID Reference update. The latest update brings Apollo X workflow enhancements, resolves user-reported bugs, improves translation-check reliability, and adds four new headphone profiles - pushing total coverage to over 500 models.

Sonarworks has rolled out an update to its industry-leading calibration software, SoundID Reference, designed to make studio workflows faster, more reliable, and more intuitive than ever. The update brings a streamlined Universal Audio Apollo X integration, eliminates a rare Steinberg-host freeze, fine-tunes translation-check reliability, and adds four new headphone profiles - cementing SoundID Reference’s position as the most comprehensive headphone calibration tool on the market with over 500 supported models.

Streamlined Studio Integration

The updated Apollo X workflow reduces clicks, launches Measurement Mode faster, and lets users silence repetitive pop-ups to stay focused on the mix.

Enhanced Stability in Steinberg Hosts

A rare freeze affecting Cubase, Nuendo, and WaveLab when loading the SoundID Reference plug-in has been fully resolved, ensuring uninterrupted creative sessions.

Improved Translation Check & Output Handling

Translation Check mode now loads both headphone profiles and presets reliably on every toggle, allowing creators to audition mixes on virtual devices without interruption. Output gain now updates only when necessary, eliminating unwanted level jumps.

Quality-of-Life Refinements

Additional tweaks include corrected tooltip placement when exporting presets to hardware, support for installation in non-Unicode folders, and unified naming conventions across partner integrations.

Four New Headphone Profiles Added

HEDDphone TWO GT – Mixing & mastering engineers seeking warmth with high detail
HEDDphone TWO – Neutral reference tuning for critical listening
Valco VMK25 – Ideal for podcasters & mobile producers
Valco VMK20B – Perfect for Bluetooth-based content creation

These profiles download automatically after updating and join the extensive list of over 500 supported headphone models.

Workflow & Stability Improvements:

Smoother Universal Audio Apollo X integration
Faster Measurement Mode startup
Option to silence repetitive pop-ups
Fix for Steinberg host freeze in Cubase, Nuendo, and WaveLab
