Bunker Samples Intimate Violin "Iremia" - soft, fragile and achingly beautiful
Tuesday August 12, 2025. 10:28 PM , from Gearslutz
![]() I'm very pleased to announce that Intimate Violin "Iremia" is out now. As the other titles in the series, it was born from the question "what makes a virtual instrument sound intimate?". I believe the answer is in the tiny details and imperfections in the sound, and these stand out more the softer you play, so with Intimate Violin you get a smorgasbord of whisper quiet sustains, subtly moving textures and four different lengths of organic swells. And of course you get every articulation recorded both with and without mute - the sustains even come in a "super con sardine" version, which is a giant practice rubber mute - probably the softest, most fragile sound I have ever sampled. This is not a conventional solo violin library, but something you reach for when you need something that truly feels human and intimate - and personally I find it incredibly inspiring to just noodle around with. The textures, which are always moving and evolving are particularly great for chordal playing, and can add interest and detail to the background without taking over the whole piece. The sustains have a beautiful fragility to them and covers the dynamic range from a whisper quiet ppp to a more robust, but still soft piano. The swells are perhaps the most immediately gratifying part of the library, and I can't tell you how many of my own pieces have started from just playing around with them. Intro price is just $49 (reg. $99), or you can get the complete Iremia bundle with the violin, viola and cello for just $149 until September 1. Kontakt full 6 or above required. I hope you get to enjoy the library and I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have! All the best, Nicolaj, Bunker Samples
