Rob Papen releases WirePluck
Rob Papen promotes out of the box thinking with WirePluck announced as pluck sounds-specialising synthesizer plug-in.

Virtual instrument and effect plug-in developer Rob Papen Inspiration Soundware is proud to announce availability of WirePluck — perfectly personifying its preferred thinking out of the box approach as a 16-voice pluck sounds-specialising synthesizer plug-in promoting the creation of new inspirational sounds rather than replicating real acoustic instruments, thanks to the three oscillator layers made up from four selectable SOURCE synthesis types residing at its musical heart — as of July 22…

With WirePluck’s UI (User Interface) being laid out in its main screen operational mode for fast editing, creating new inspirational sounds is a breeze with easy access to the most important parameters and ARP (arpeggiator) preset selection. Alternatively, ADVANCED screen operation offers up all available parameters for tweaking to anyone’s musical heart’s content.

The three oscillator layers — namely, LAYER 1, LAYER 2, and LAYER 3 — are made up from four selectable SOURCE synthesis types: Wire is a newly-developed sound source that, as implied by name, sounds a little like hitting a wire; String uses a custom Karplus-Strong physical modelling synthesis method that loops a short waveform through a filtered delay line to simulate the sound of a hammered or plucked string or some types of percussion; FM is a three-operator FM (Phase Modulation) synthesizer, albeit one that uniquely adds a PITCH ENV (envelope) control to each oscillator as a wonderful way of adding extra ‘pluck’ to the sound, something somewhat uncommon in classic FM synthesis; and, last but by no means least, Wave, which is a single-oscillator subtractive synthesis setup featuring an array of 26 filter types, including 12dB LowPass. It is perfectly possible, of course, to combine any of those synthesis types in the three layers, with each layer having its own output routing.

Elsewhere, effects included in WirePluck are anchored around its dedicated DIST (distortion) — various types, MOD-FX (modulation effects) — comprising Chorus, Flanger, and so on, (stereo) DELAY — with unique EQUAL feedback option, and top-tier (RP-VERB algorithm-based) REVERB sections.

And as if all that was not enough to be getting on with, WirePluck also includes a full-featured ARP with some unique features, such as RATCHET MODE and CHORD control per step; an extensive CHORD memory section; and a MOD MATRIX with eight modulation slots — mainly for Rob Papen’s proprietary RIBBON CONTROLLER section, itself acting as a dedicated modulation source with its unique (tempo-based) SPRING BACK feature, usable in BIPOLAR and POLAR modes.

MANAGER mode, meanwhile, provides easy access to a sizeable number of PRESETS — many made by Rob Papen himself, who originally made his name as a sought-after sound designer, alongside contributions from other notable sound designers from around the world — with which anyone can get going quickly without necessarily needing to first become fully acquainted with Rob Papen’s preferred out of the box thinking with WirePluck. Whatever way anyone chooses to interact with this pluck sounds-specialising synthesizer plug-in, rest assured that the inspirational sounds flowing forth certainly live up to its creator’s Inspiration Soundware spirit.

WirePluck is available — as a 64-bit AAX-, AU-, VST-, and VST3-compatible virtual instrument plug-in for Mac (OS X 10.15 or higher, ARM processor compatible) and as a 64-bit VST- and VST3-compatible virtual instrument plug-in for PC (Windows 7 or higher) with 64-bit AAX compatibility available for PT 12 or higher (PC) — at an attractive price of only €49.00 EUR/$49.00 USD from authorised Rob Papen dealers worldwide or as a download directly from Rob Papen for that same price via its dedicated webpage, which also features more in-depth information.

WirePluck is included in eXplorer-10 (https://www.robpapen.com/explorer-10.html), the latest version of Rob Papen’s all-encompassing bundle, at no additional cost; existing owners only have to download the latest installer and run it to add WirePluck to their Rob Papen virtual instrument and effect plug-in collection.
