Initial Audio releases 'SourceLab' modular synthesiser for macOS & Windows
Friday May 30, 2025. 12:06 PM , from KVR Audio
Initial Audio has announced the release of SourceLab, a plug-in that merges wavetable synthesis, multi-sample playback and loop-slicing inside a six-source architecture. Each source can be switched between Wavetable Oscillator, Sampler or Loop Slicer modes and routed through independent modulation and effects chains. Key points: Up to six simultaneous sound sources, each supporting 24-voice unison, FM/warp options and Zynaptiq ZTX time-stretch when working with loop content. 14-plus modulation types (AHDSR, LFO with user shapes, multi-stage envelopes, and more). Integrated granular engine, per-layer MIDI sequencing and six configurable FX racks. Library-consolidation system that packages every sample, loop, wavetable and MIDI file into a single preset to avoid missing-file errors. Ships with over 1300 factory presets, 300+ wavetables and 600+ MIDI files (approximately 4 GB installed). Compatible with all 13,000+ Heat Up 3 instruments; registered Heat Up 3 users receive an automatic 40% discount. Formats & Requirements SourceLab runs as VST3 (Windows/macOS), AU (macOS) and stand-alone. Supported operating systems are 64-bit Windows 10 or later and macOS 10.13 or later on Intel or Apple Silicon hardware. Pricing & Availability SourceLab is available now at an introductory price of €169 / $169 until 31 August 2025 (regular €199 / $199). A free, functional demo can be downloaded from Initial Audio's website. Each license allows four concurrent activations and includes lifetime free updates. Deep dive video Read More
