Smile v5.00 - Equal Loudness Contour Tilt Filter
Thursday May 22, 2025. 02:57 PM , from Gearslutz
![]() Smile started out as a Fletcher-Munson-based de-harser, designed to naturally shape your spectrum and remove harsh elements without hurting the mix. From version 5 and onwards, it has evolved into a full-blown equal loudness contours tilt filter, merging the plugins Smile and Fletchy-Muncher into one. That means you still get the subtle ear-friendly de-harshing from earlier versions, but can now also test for harshness or add clarity and sparkle to a dull mix. The filter is no longer just approximated. Each position of the main knob is now mapped to an actual phon-based loudness curve, based on the latest ISO 226:2003 standard. This makes Smile more precise, natural, and musical than ever before. Demo video: Highlights: • True equal loudness contours shaping based on ISO 226:2003 • Merged with the classic Fletcher-Munson-based de-harshing plugin Fletchy-Muncher • More accurate response for every knob position • Great for quick tonal adjustments during mixing, mastering, or live use Formats: Mac – VST3 & AU (Signed & Notarized) Windows – VST3 More info, demo, and download:
