SPL Audio Announces Phonos duo & Crossover Mk2
Wednesday May 14, 2025. 11:47 AM , from KVR Audio
SPL has announced the release of Phonos duo, a RIAA phono preamplifier, and the Crossover Mk2 Analog Crossover. Phonos duo is designed for turntables using either moving magnet (MM) or moving coil (MC) cartridge systems and features balanced and unbalanced inputs and outputs. It offers six selectable capacities for MM systems and impedances for MC systems, allowing for adaptation to different cartridges. The unit incorporates SPL's VOLTAiR technology and an RIAA filter based on the Douglas-Self design. Phonos duo will be an addition to the SPL product line and will not replace the existing SPL Phonos phono preamplifier. Both products will remain available. Crossover Mk2 features an expanded range of crossover frequencies and functions compared to its predecessor. It is designed to facilitate the integration of bass loudspeakers or subwoofers in analog high-end audio systems, offering an alternative to digital crossovers. The Crossover Mk2 utilizes SPL's VOLTAiR technology. It is the successor to the original SPL Crossover and will replace it in the SPL product portfolio. Availability Both units will have their public world premiere on May 14, 2025, at the High End in Munich, where it will be demonstrated live at Atrium 4.2, F211. Read More
