Wednesday May 7, 2025. 10:52 AM , from KVR Audio
Polyend has announced the release of Synth Firmware 1.3, a significant update that includes a new synth engine called DWA. Also announced is Mess, a new multi-effect pedal combining a powerful multi-track step sequencer with a wide range of effects. Polyend Synth Firmware 1.3 Firmware 1.3 introduces DWA, described as an experimental sample-based synth engine that utilizes two samples and manipulation tools to build sounds. The update also includes new factory content, such as a sample pack containing over 100 samples from Palettes, along with new scenes and patches specifically for DWA. Other features in the update include customizable grid colors, the ability to play three synths within a single grid layout, a new MIDI Out instrument, and MIDI Input support for polyphonic aftertouch. Synth will be available for demonstration at Superbooth 25 at booth W320. Polyend Mess Mess allows users to combine up to four stereo effects per preset, offering flexibility in crafting unique soundscapes, intricate sequences, or traditional effect chains. The pedal features 125 stereo effects across various categories. The integrated step sequencer, a hallmark of Polyend instruments, provides per-track speed and length control for creating polyrhythmic or polymetric sequences. Chance options are also included for generating evolving and unpredictable effects. The sequencer can be used to add movement and musicality to effects, such as rhythmic delays or evolving reverbs. Mess is designed to be versatile, capable of generating experimental and avant-garde sounds while also functioning as a traditional multi-effect pedal without sequencing. Engaging the play switch activates the sequencer, transitioning from a static effect chain to an evolving sequence. Key Features: 4 Effect Tracks for combining multiple effects. 125 Stereo Effects across various categories including Reverbs, Delays, Granular, Glitch, Shapers, Drives, Filters, Pitch Shift, Spectralize, Slicers, and Microloopers. Comprehensive Sequencing capabilities with per-track speed and length, and chance options. Extravagant and Traditional operation modes. Extensive Reverbs & Delays with multiple types and sub-modes. Versatile Granular & Glitch engines for sound manipulation. Shapers, Drives & Filters for sculpting tone from subtle saturation to distortion. Pitch Shift & Spectralize for re-harmonizing or transforming sound. Slicers & Microloopers for rhythmic effects and controlled chaos. Over 200 factory presets and 1000 user preset slots. Intuitive knob-per-function interface and 16-step grid pad. Stereo input and output. Expression pedal input. MIDI in and out (3.5mm). MIDI over USB-C. Includes a 32GB microSD card for storage.
