Introducing the Nordic Audio Labs NU-24K Condenser Microphone
Nordic Audio Labs releases the NU-24K large diaphragm condenser microphone featuring the company's proprietary D100K 30mm large diaphragm edge terminated precision engineered capsule and FloFETTM circuitry.

A New Chapter

Whilst many of you are aware of Nordic Audio Labs and founder and designer Martin Kantola’s 30 year history of creating top tier microphones, many might also think of Nordic Audio Labs microphones as tools that live at a price level outside of your reach. Not anymore! Whilst this new microphone like all our microphones is hand made, assembled and rigorously tested and measured in house in the Finnish forest, now for the first time the backplate metalwork for our totally original capsules are being made to exacting tolerances in a local factory. They are then meticulously assembled, skinned, measured and quality controlled in house, as ever. This exciting development makes it possible to offer this new microphone to a far larger crowd of producers and musicians, and serves as an invitation to come join us on our walk through as yet uncharted parts of the microphone forest. Where we find new ways of microphone design, whilst keeping the inspiration of the classic microphones’ powers to transport you into a different world as our measuring stick. Only, instead of using the traditional parts like capsules “inspired” by the classic types, and tubes and transformers, we build around Martin Kantola’s entirely original capsule designs and readily available electronic parts, creating new recipes for new classic microphones. A new way through the forest.

The NU-24K

Introducing the NU-24K, the newest arrival in the Nordic Audio Labs family. A cardioid large diaphragm condenser microphone unlike any other, voiced for a BIG, gorgeous modern vocal sound.

The microphone is based around the D100K, our proprietary 30mm edge terminated large diaphragm capsule, which exhibits unusually excellent off axis phase response, super realistic transient response, and superbly smooth top end. This makes for a microphone with beautifully lifelike capture without harshness. Plus the resulting recordings are more accepting of processing than ones using most other condenser microphones. Not that you will want to process much.

The phantom powered NU-24K uses neither tubes nor transformers, yet by way of our innovative FloFETTM circuitry it provides a tone far away from what you might expect from a transformerless solid state microphone. Friendly smooth and flattering like a great tube microphone. Precision and lifelike detail like a transformerless microphone. It is a NU sound.

The NU-24K is a truly great choice for a one stop ‘will sound great on anyone' vocal microphone. Or indeed that ‘one great sounding microphone for anything’ to elevate a project studio, delivering absolute top tier tones on most anything you put in front of it.

A phantom powered microphone, hand made in Finland that sounds as if a 251 and a U47 had a baby, and is available in the price range of a TLM103.

Features:Hand built with love in Finland
FloFETTM circuitry delivering tube tone without tubes
D100K 30mm large diaphragm edge terminated precision engineered capsule

The low output impedance and high output level makes the microphone forgiving in regard to what preamplifier is used. Predictably excellent results even with less than big money interface preamps
Very good signal to noise performance makes it easy to record low level instruments perfectly
