United Plugins releases WideFire Free for a limited time
Monday March 10, 2025. 10:39 AM , from Gearslutz
![]() Born from the core widening technology of JMG Sound's DarkFire, WideFire offers a unique approach to stereo enhancement. Unlike traditional wideners, it leverages a sophisticated harmonic separation technique, creating a natural and immersive soundstage. How? Similar to DarkFire, WideFire is an analogue-style saturator plugin. After saturating your signal, the added harmonics are detached, a widening algorithm is applied to them, and then they are blended back with the original audio signal. This method results in a significantly cleaner and more spacious stereo field compared to conventional techniques, which often introduce phase issues or artefacts. Where? WideFire is perfect for vocals, guitars, synths, and any audio source needing a wider presence. WideFire also excels at converting mono recordings into stereo. It's an essential tool for producers and engineers seeking to enhance their mixes with a natural, expansive sound. Free for a while The regular price of WideFire is €29, but we decided to give out WideFire for free for a time-limited period (ends on the 19th of March). Afterwards, the price will rise to €9 for a while. However, WideFire will always be free for any DarkFire user. To get the plugin, you have to go to WideFire product page, add the item to your shopping cart and check out (FREE) as you would normaly do. The license will appear in your account then. Upgrade from WideFire to Darkfire For those who are not familiar with the way UnitedPlugins' upgrades work: When an upgrade is available (Cyberdrive Core -> Cyberdrive, Electrum Core -> Electrum, FrontDAW -> UniChannel), we simply deduct a proportional part of what you already have. If a light version's costs equal 25% of the regular one's, you get a 25% discount on that version regardless of the current price and what you paid for the light version.
