Shure Quad-Channel Receivers
Tuesday January 28, 2025. 04:01 AM , from AudioTechnology
Shure introduced the SLX-D Quad-Channel Digital Receiver, available in both standard (SLXD4Q+) and Dante-enabled (SLXD4QDAN+) versions. Paired with existing SLX-D transmitters, the new Quad-Channel Digital Receivers build upon the rich feature set of SLX-D digital wireless with a suite of new and improved capabilities, including an expanded 138 MHz tuning range capability, enabling country-wide frequency versatility. *
The new receivers provide an efficient, flexible, and cost-effective solution for managing multiple wireless audio channels in limited rack space, ideal for lecture halls, conference rooms, event stages, community theaters, and performance venues. By consolidating four channels of wireless into a single rack unit, users can improve rack and storage space, require fewer accessories, simplify setup and cabling, centralize control and monitoring, improve multi-channel frequency management and synchronization, and even provide a redundant channel for critical applications by assigning one channel as a backup. “SLX-D Quad Receivers bring everything to the table that users expect from SLX-D: flawless 24-bit audio, streamlined, network-ready setup, and rock-solid RF,” said Nick Wood, Senior Director, Global Marketing and Product Management, at Shure. “Now these features are available in a space-saving, four-channel receiver with wide tuning bands that cover the available UHF frequency range. This means a single SLX-D Quad receiver can be deployed throughout an entire country and sync with any band of existing SLX-D transmitters.” Audio Summing SLX-D Quad’s new audio summing feature enables users to set and combine audio levels, then mix them down to between one and four outputs, simplifying the process of managing wireless output levels and managing receiver outputs to best match open mixer channels. RF Cascade RF cascading makes it possible for two SLX-D Quad Receivers to be linked together to create an eight-channel SLX-D receiver system without requiring additional accessories. This facilitates the ability to quickly scale up compact and multi-channel wireless systems. Versatility With SLX-D Quad Receivers, users can quickly find multiple open frequencies and sync with their existing SLX-D transmitters. At startup, the receiver’s display guides users through setup and shows the battery life and health of each channel. With XLR, 1/4-inch, and Dante output options, SLX-D Quad Receivers cater to a wide range of professional audio requirements, ensuring compatibility, high-quality signal transmission, and flexibility in various use cases. Users can connect UA874 Active Directional Antennas to SLX-D Quad Receivers without additional power supplies required. The SLXD4Q+ Quad Receiver has four XLR and four 1/4-inch outputs with two ethernet connections. The Dante-enabled SLXD4QDAN+ includes the same robust features as the standard version, along with a Dante audio digital output that enables direct connection to digital consoles for use in any application.
