Above (L-R): Gibson Hummingbird Studio EC, Hummingbird Standard Rosewood EC, and Hummingbird Standard EC. NASHVILLE, TN (November 27, 2024) As it celebrates 130 years of making the most iconic guitars in the world, Gibson has been shaping the sound of music since 1894, when its founder Orville Gibson designed and built his earliest-known musical instrument in his workshop. The innovative and forward-thinking carved top design that revolutionized the mandolin and guitar world delivering a louder, more durable, more playable instrument, remains the DNA of every Gibson. Introducing three new versions elevating the storied Gibson Hummingbird, the Hummingbird Studio EC, Hummingbird Standard EC, and the Hummingbird Rosewood, handcrafted by the expert luthiers of the Gibson acoustic craftory in Bozeman, Montana. Now more versatile and expressive than ever, the Gibson Hummingbird acoustic guitars are available worldwide at authorized Gibson dealers, and online at Gibson website. Gibson Hummingbird Studio EC in Tri-Burst Satin Now Featuring a Cutaway for Even More Range and Expressiveness The Hummingbird™ Studio EC continues Gibson’s long history of producing world-famous square shoulder body designs and now offers players even more expressive possibilities with a cutaway mahogany body paired with a Sitka spruce top that delivers improved upper fret access. The utile neck features a rosewood fretboard with mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays, a fast-playing Round SlimTaper™ profile, and a 16” radius for easy string bending. The TUSQ® bridge pins, saddle, and nut, along with the Grover® Rotomatic® tuning machines, keep the tuning solid. The pickguard features one-color Hummingbird Studio graphics, and the satin nitrocellulose finish gives the Hummingbird Studio EC the look and feel of a long-treasured musical companion. An L.R. Baggs™ Element Bronze active under-saddle piezo pickup ensures easy studio-quality plug-and-play anywhere, while the included hardshell case helps keep this 'bird safe wherever your travels take you. Gibson Hummingbird Standard EC in Heritage Cherry The Famous Hummingbird, Now With a Cutaway for Even More Expressiveness The Gibson Hummingbird™ is known for its versatility. It has always been equally well suited for strumming first-position chords and taking the spotlight for picking lead lines. The Hummingbird has become more versatile and expressive than ever with the introduction of the Hummingbird Standard EC. Like the Hummingbird Standard, the Hummingbird Standard EC’s mahogany body and sweet, select Sitka spruce top are more than capable of holding down the rhythm in the hands of a rock and roll sideman or accompanying the most nuanced performance under the fingers of today’s alternative singer-songwriter, but with the addition of the cutaway on the Hummingbird Standard EC, the access to the upper frets is significantly increased, making this the Hummingbird of choice for lead players and others who require increased note range and enhanced expressiveness. The Hummingbird’s mahogany neck has a comfortable Round SlimTaper™ profile and mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays. This ‘bird has a TUSQ® nut, saddle, and bridge pins, Grover® Rotomatic® tuners, the iconic Hummingbird graphics on the pickguard, and is equipped with L.R. Baggs™ VTC electronics, so it’s ready to plug in on stage or in the studio from the moment you take it out of the included hardshell case. Gibson Hummingbird Standard Rosewood EC in Rosewood Burst The Famous Hummingbird, Now With a Rosewood Cutaway Body for Even More Expressiveness The Gibson Hummingbird™ is known for its versatility. It has always been equally well suited for strumming first-position chords and taking the spotlight for picking lead lines. The Hummingbird has become more versatile and expressive than ever with the introduction of the Hummingbird Standard Rosewood EC. The Hummingbird Standard Rosewood EC’s rosewood body, paired with the Sitka spruce top, adds a bit more bass and harmonic complexity to the legendary Hummingbird tonal recipe. Like all Hummingbirds, it’s more than capable of holding down the rhythm in the hands of a rock and roll sideman or accompanying the most nuanced performance under the fingers of today’s alternative singer-songwriter, but with the addition of the cutaway on the Hummingbird Standard Rosewood EC, the access to the upper frets is significantly increased, making this Hummingbird a great choice for lead players and others who require increased note range and enhanced expressiveness. All Gibson guitars are handcrafted in the USA.
