Advice regarding mics for classical piano recording

Wednesday November 13, 2024. 06:19 PM , from Gearslutz
Hello all, my studio is 21x21x8 and is acoustically treated. I have two concert grand pianos and am currently using a pair of Schoeps cmc6 MK2h for the 'main' piano, which I really like. I would like to purchase another pair for the other piano (currently using DPA 2011c which I don't care for as much). I am considering either going with another cmc6 or DPA 4011A, or even the 4006A. Since my space isn't very 'lively', I typically add a bit of reverb in logic. I am running the mics via Focusrite red 8line and Grace m108. Btw, I am a pianist/teacher and not a professional engineer. Thanks in advance for any input regarding which pair would be most suitable for my needs.
