Iconic Rackmount Chorus Now a Plugin

Tuesday November 12, 2024. 03:16 AM , from AudioTechnology
IK Multimedia has released T-RackS 6 Triad Chorus, an evolution of the iconic rack chorus from the ’80s. Long the secret weapon behind top producers and session musicians, this reimagined processor is here to triple the sonic horizons of today’s producers.
With three chorus voices, each with independent controls for Amount, Rate, Phase, Pan and BPM sync, Triad Chorus offers unparalleled power and creativity. Whether working in mono or stereo, it empowers users to design deep, moving, immersive sounds and textures that were previously unimaginable.
When used right, a chorus can be a powerful tool for producing a memorable listening experience. With three choruses working together, the Triad Chorus offers a toolbox for thickening or adding motion to audio with maximum flexibility and minimal effort.
Triad Chorus Overview

Inspired by the iconic ’80s stereo chorus that shaped countless hits
Digitally expanded while maintaining analog-like warmth and depth
Three independent voices offer advanced capabilities for sound design
Ideal for transforming tracks with a lush vibe and immersive sound
Works as a standalone plug-in or inside the T-RackS 6 plug-in shell
Includes 20 presets for Bass, Guitar, Keys, FX, Voice and more

Three Times the Original’s Charm
What sets Triad Chorus apart from other chorus plug-ins is its additional controls, allowing users to fine-tune each voice. With three independent sets of parameters, there’s complete control over every detail for each voice, offering the precision to create a vibrant, multi-dimensional stereo field perfect for breathing life into guitars, synths, vocals and more.
Maximum Flexibility, Minimum Effort
Divided into three main sections, the Triad Chorus puts all its creative power at one’s fingertips. The top section houses general controls for the plug-in, such as Power, Input, Output, Input Mode (Stereo/Mono) and Feedback.
In Stereo Input Mode, the left channel is sent to Voice 1, the mono sum to Voice 2 and the right channel to Voice 3, creating stereo soundscapes like no other chorus effect. The middle section displays the three LFOs, providing an easy visual indication of their amplitude, rate and phase relationship. At the bottom are controls dedicated to each of the three chorus voices, with independent controls for Amount, Rate, Phase, Pan and BPM Sync for each voice. It’s like having professional studio gear without the steep learning curve.
More Excitement on Tap
Triad Chorus also offers a Feedback control that loops the processed signal back through the unit to deepen and intensify the sound. Users can quickly experiment with adding resonance, swirling echoes, lush, evolving textures and more to achieve a uniquely exciting listening experience.
Good Tracks + Good Vibes = Magic
Not only does the Triad Chorus recreate the recognizable depth and modulation of the effect used by artists like Joni Mitchell, Eric Clapton and Madonna, but it also features modern improvements such as digital expansion and BPM sync. The result? A lush and rich stereo depth that defined an era, now in an easy-to-use software format tailored for today’s productions. Triad Chorus promises to be the new go-to T-RackS plug-in for exploring a range of tones exponentially wider than other chorus effects.
Compatibility and Accessibility
Like all T-RackS 6 plug-in processors, Triad Chorus is designed to be fully compatible with Mac and Windows platforms. It supports all major plug-in formats, Audio Units, VST 3 and AAX.
