Focal Shape 40/50 - automatic standby - is it annoying?

Hi,

There is no „switch off automatic standby” button on the Shape monitors. There is such button on Alpha series monitors though. I understand this is due to the speakers’ design having different class amps.

There was a time I’ve been working with monitors without such switch and it was very annoying to always remember to „blow” a louder signal prior to work/returning to work after a while.

I’ve heard that the Shape monitors can go to sleep even when playing a low signal.

So my question is directed to those who really use Shape monitors. Is it annoying? Or should I rather buy a pair of Alpha monitors?
