comparison of different (SSL) consoles

Hi Rich,

since you're of the rare spezies to have worked extensively on basically every SSL console since the 4k, I think it would be great to hear from you about the big and tiny differences between all of them.

Be it sound or workflow-related.

Not only between 4k and 9j, but moreso along these lines of questions:

- what's the sonic difference between 9j, 9k and Duality?

- anything workflow-wise that is different?

- different automation systems?

Of course more than happy to hear also about other consoles, like SSL 9k vs. 88R, etc.

I think this is knowledge that will disappear quite soon, since your generation of mixing engineers will be the last one having used the different generations of high end consoles extensively.

Let's preserve some of that wisdom!
