Help with lexicon MPX-1

Sunday November 10, 2024. 02:10 AM , from Gearslutz
Hi all, have a weird problem with my MPX1. Not finding anything on the forums either.

After having the unit in storage for awhile, I came back to find that all of the preset patches were no longer in their proper location. For instance, the patch listed as #22 in the manual is now at #115, etc. The patches still sound the same, just the location has changed.

Performed a factory reset per the manual, and then per the instructions on the Harman site, without success. Figured the battery might be going bad, so I got that replaced too. No luck. Performed the same two factory resets after replacing the battery, again without success.

Has anyone else had this problem, or know what might be going on? Is it possible that some ROM has gotten corrupted somewhere? Obviously not the end of the world, because the audio processing still seems to be working fine, but would like to fix this if I could. I’m assuming you can’t move the preset patch locations, but is it possible to do a preset patch restore using a sysex dump? Or is that just for the user patches?
