Any opinion on the MXL CR89

Hi guys,

I'm looking for reviews of the MXL CR89.

I wanted to use it for a typical male voice (bass/baritone) but it's a quite old mic so I wanted to have your opinion on it.

For my part, I was interested in this one for its rather original frequency spectrum highlighting the low and mid frequencies. And listening to it on Audio Test Kitchen, I found it well balanced between the warmth of the lows and the clarity of the highs.

But I don't have much experience with mics.

What do you think?

Do you think of a better microphone for my application in this price range?

For which applications do you think this microphone is best suited?
