Neutrik Inline XLR attenuator pads for ATC45a / Carbon
Thursday November 7, 2024. 12:40 PM , from Gearslutz
Running a pair of ATC SCM45a here with my Pro Tools Carbon. When listening to full range / mastered material often I don't have enough resolution at the bottom of the range on the Carbon monitor contro. I.e the signal doesn't get quiet enough before the monitor control clicks off to silence. Previously I had been using a pair of Switchcraft adjustable output pads [6 - 20db] that Dave Hill had supplied with my Avocet. These seem to do the trick but recently I am not sure they are calibrated the same and don't have a meter here to check. I would rather not start messing with the input sensitivity on the monitors themselves. I was thinking of buying a pair of fixed Neutrik -10db XLR pads instead as the barrels on the Switchcrafts are super long and I need to get the speakers closer to the front wall. Would also take the guesswork out of whether the adjustable pads are set up correctly. Would these below be suitable? Many thanks Quote: Neutrik In-Line XLR attenuator 10dB pad 200 Ohm 3 pin — Studiocare This Neutrik in-line attenuator has a fixed value 10dB pad. It has no phantom power pass-through.
