NoiseWorks announces DynAssist Vocal Editing Plugin
Thursday October 24, 2024. 03:38 PM , from Gearslutz
Witten, Germany, 24th October 2024 – NoiseWorks introduces an update from GainAimPro to DynAssist, a remarkable software for professional studio applications to reduce the time and effort for vocal editing to a minimum. DynAssist implements so many improvements that it would be fair to call it an upgrade rather than an update. More upgrade than update: DynAssist NoiseWorks DynAssist improves and expands on what GainAimPro was able to do. A user interface overhaul facilitates clearer workflow, the new “Loop Analysis” mode provides a quick way to monitor adjustments for long audio recordings, and the “Listen” mode allows for an even more precise adjustment of parameters for Breath and Sibilance recognition. Some manufacturers would save such extras for a new version that they charge for – NoiseWorks delivers this upgrade for free. DynAssist – the digital studio assistant The feature set of DynAssist is impressive. The plug-in essentially is a digital studio assistant, taking on the editing of recordings, especially voice recordings. DynAssist controls the level, intelligently eliminates unwanted noise and creates a clean recording that can then be mixed easily. Due to ARA integration, the process is latency free and at near zero CPU load – this studio assistant does not require computation capacities. Time-consuming editing is a thing of the past, leaving more room for the creative process. Professional voice recordings in an instant The secret to a professional vocal sound is the meticulous editing of the recordings. Well-prepared tracks react better to compression and lead to a more homogenous and clearer vocal sound. NoiseWorks DynAssist takes on this task and edits the recordings in four aspects. “Ride” adjusts the level of a track to a target loudness in LUFS-I without creating pumping artefacts. “Vox-Gate” is exactly what it says: a gate, but thanks to AI support, it works very cleanly and without a threshold parameter, instead actually recognizing vocal activity. “Breath” makes sure that breathing sounds are levelled appropriately, while “Sibilance” processes harsh S sounds. All four aspects can be adjusted to tailor to the requirements of a recording or personal preferences. The result is a truly clean track – with minimal effort. New features in DynAssist The most apparent change of DynAssist compared to GainAimPro – apart from the name – is its user interface. NoiseWorks has taken user feedback to heart and overhauled the interface. Parameters no longer obscure the wave form. Every feature has its own tab, with an additional “All” view to access all parameters from one window. Preset manager and bypass were revised and a timeline added, which is particularly important for the new “Loop Analysis” mode: the analysis only includes a timeline selection, so trying out presets and adjusting parameters does not require capturing the entire file anymore. The “Listen” mode allows for monitoring the affected signal parts in the Breath and Sibilance sections to hone the settings even more precisely. DynAssist can handle audio files of up to five hours. And using the processing power of potent graphics cards for the analysis via Windows DirectML, the new version of the plug-in is up to four times faster. Price and availability The update to DynAssist is available immediately and free for all users of GainAimPro. The MSRP for DynAssist is 149.00 EUR (including 19% VAT).
