Windows Installer Not Responding

Over the past year or so every time I try to install - or uninstall - a large program like Pro Tools I get a message part way through saying, "Windows installer has stopped responding" or "Installer is no longer responding" and the installation hangs. If I click on Retry enough times (sometimes 10 or more) it eventually completes the installation.

Any one else had this issue - and if so, what is the fix?

I'm on Win 10 Home 22H2, with latest updates
