Mic locker advice

Sunday November 3, 2024. 06:40 AM , from Gearslutz
I'm retiring in a few years. Lucky me!

I've always been part of my local music scene, and still play in bands. I have a studio space I use for my own projects, but eventually it would be nice to donate my time and space to helping younger folk who don't have my experience and other advantages.

I've been very slowly collecting mics over the decades, but haven't had any real need to expand beyond my immediate needs. While I'm still earning, I'd like to build a mic locker that will let me help folks going forward.

I'll probably focus on genres I resonate with, rock and metal.

I'll list out what I've collected over my life, and perhaps folks here can suggest some additions I'll not regret?

Budget? Realistically, I'm in no hurry. I can save. A U87 isn't out of the picture, but it might be wasted on my skinflint clients and the rest of my signal chain, detailed below.

I'll look forward to your suggestions on what I might be missing!:-)
