Hi all!
Coming days going to record a classical duet of voice and saxophone, gorgeous emotional and intimate music.
Need tips on what way to mic it…..
done more classical recordings, string orchestra, string quartet, soloists. (Always loved the Faulkner 4 mic set up!)
This duet is a first time. Excited to capture it in the best way I can!
It is in one of Netherlands best radio recording halls, pretty big for a duo. (Pic in attachment)
Mics I got:
Neumann km184 (x4)
Line audio Omni (x2)
Line audio cm4 (x2)
JZ microphones JZ-5 (like Blue Cactus)
Beyerdynamic m160 (ribbon, hypercardiod)
Thinking to put Faulkner 4 mic
(2 km184 inner, 2 Omni outer)
And
JZ5 near voice
Km184 near Sax
Any insightful tips very very welcome, there is not too much time to experiment with sound set up, though that obviously has to be wonderful before starting the recording.
Thanks a lot!
Heiko
