Huikui - The easy way to share and annotate audio on the go

Thursday October 17, 2024. 11:12 PM , from Gearslutz
Hey GearSpace folks!

I'm developing a web application called Huikui with musician and engineering friends. Our goal is to make audio sharing and feedback effortless.

Huikui lets you upload audio and add timestamped comments, making it easy for audio engineers to pinpoint mix changes and for songwriters, podcasters, producers, and collaborators to highlight specific parts of a track.

We’ve just begun sharing our app, and it's been well received in beta. I thought it would be great to invite this community first to try it out, as GearSpace has always been valuable to me from my recording studio days. I’ve gained so much knowledge from posts here, and I’m excited to give back to the community.:abduction: https://huikui.io

Huikui is fun, simple and fast. Built with creators and engineers in mind.

Key Features
Free to Use - No account needed! Create a workspace to manage sessions, delete files, and access extra features.
Streaming-Optimized - Supports most audio formats and converts them to ensure smooth, on-the-go streaming playback.
Frictionless Sharing - Easily share without requiring recipients to create accounts.
Highlight & Comment - Add comments precisely where they belong in the track—no more confusing notes or misplaced questions.
Privacy Focused - Your files and sessions are yours. No spam, and privacy is our priority.
No App Required – Built for the web with a seamless experience on both desktop and mobile. Share effortlessly, without needing your clients to download anything.
Add Sessions to Your Workspace - Received a Huikui link? Click "Add to workspace" to keep track of it in your account (if signed up).
Automatic File Deletion - Files are automatically deleted after 30 days.
Download Original Files - Allow others to download the original audio if you have an account.

Huikui is free to use - no account is needed.
Though, signing up allows for more control. Creating a free account is simple—just enter your email to receive a sign-in link.

How It Works:
Upload your audio directly from the browser, and Huikui will create a streaming-friendly version. Copy the link and share it easily.

We believe sharing should be frictionless and secure, without requiring recipients to create accounts, download apps or learn complex tools. We hope Huikui proves to be both a seamless sharing service and a powerful tool for organizing feedback.

Your Feedback Matters: We've focused on making the core experience solid and frictionless, but we're eager for your feedback. What features would make you use Huikui? Your feedback could help shape Huikui into a valuable tool for musicians, producers, and engineers.

Give it a try - drop an audio file at huikui.io. No sign-ups, no strings. And rest assured, your files and sessions are yours. We don't use your data for anything else, and everything is automatically deleted after about 30 days. We’re exploring options to allow account holders to keep sessions active for more than 30 days.

I'd love your feedback. Any suggestions are appreciated as we aim to build something helpful for the community. Also, how do you usually share your audio projects?

Thanks for your time! We truly appreciate it if you give our early-release of Huikui a try.

Disclaimer: Huikui is in its early-release stage, and we’ve focused on delivering a smooth audio player and easy-to-use commenting system. While it’s already a powerful tool for creators and collaborators, we’re still gathering feedback to expand its features—especially for audio professionals. Your input will help us refine, so we’re excited to hear your thoughts. Rest assured, Huikui is built for everyone, not just engineers, and we’re committed to enhancing the experience for all users as we move forward.
