Augspurger® Monitors introduces the MinimaX MX-65P: Enhanced efficiency with uncompromised sound quality.

The AES Show, NYC. October 2024 – Augspurger® Monitors proudly announces the release of the MinimaX MX-65P, a pioneering addition to their professional studio monitor lineup. Building on the acclaimed performance of its popular MX-65 near-field monitors, the new MX-65P variant incorporates a meticulously engineered passive crossover, designed to optimize the monitor’s efficiency while maintaining its superior sound quality.

The MX-65P allows for an incredibly efficient use of amplifier channels. A notable feature is its ability to operate with only one amplifier channel, unlike its active counterparts. This efficiency means that four MX-65P units can be driven by a single SXE 4D or SX2500 amplifier chassis, significantly reducing the number of amplifier chassis needed in large systems. This translates into considerable cost savings through fewer amp chassis, reduced equipment racks, and less wiring, all contributing to lower installation costs.

Handbuilt by Augspurger’s skilled technicians at its Hanover HQ, the custom passive crossover in the MX-65P is designed to maximize the response of its cabinet and driver, ensuring that the sound quality Augspurger users expect is uncompromised. The speaker features a 70 x 110 degree horn—identical in dispersion to larger Augspurger horns—and is rotatable for vertical or horizontal use, enhancing its versatility.

Additionally, the MX-65P is available with multiple amplification configurations, including 2-way and 3-way active options with DSP, allowing users to tailor the system to their specific needs. For extended low-frequency response, the MX-65P can be paired with Augspurger Sub10 or Sub12 subwoofers, creating a full-range 3-way system.

The MX-65P maintains a compact desktop footprint, measuring 15.75 inches in height, 9 inches in width, and 9 inches in depth, ensuring it can fit in any space without compromise.

Prices start at $3,500 each / $7,000 per pair, or come bundled with an XS2500 amp at $11,500 (which includes remote tuning). All systems are made to order and are now shipping globally. Customers can also add subwoofers to make a powerful 3-way system.
