Platane UP1 Portable Audio Interface
Tuesday September 24, 2024. 05:15 AM , from Gearslutz
The Platane UP1 (USB Pro Interface) audio interface is designed for professional audio work, focusing on portability while achieving high signal-to-noise ratios and sound quality. It aims to eliminate noise and enhance audio quality while providing an ultra-low latency experience.
The UP1 is crafted from aluminum alloy with featuring a matte finish that effectively shields against electromagnetic interference. It excels in both tactile feel and durability. It supports a sampling precision of up to 32Bit/192KHz, with 3 inputs and 4 outputs, as well as 1 mic/instrument input and 2-channel headphone output. It is compatible with both Windows and Mac OS. To maximize noise reduction on speaker, the UP1 choose knob-less design, utilizing the new PGA amplifier circuit chip and ADC chip from TI company to process digital signals. These two advanced chips work in tandem, effectively minimizing the impact of unnecessary circuitry on sound quality. The circuit design employs a Crystal amplifier with an input gain of up to 64dB, capable of driving various low-sensitivity microphones. With a 5k input impedance, it also accommodates high-impedance microphones. The mic preamp features dual amplification, providing a 20dB gain with slight coloration to enhance the recorded sound while maintaining audio fidelity. The instrument input uses a JFET circuit with a 1M Ω Hi-Z input, making it ideal for connecting high-impedance instruments like electric guitars or basses. It effectively drives the instrument's input signal while balancing interference noise, ensuring the output remains bright and clear. The headphone output continues the knob-less design to eliminate potential noise while offering precise digital control which enhancing the balance between the left and right channels. It features the latest TPA6120 high-current headphone amplifier chip from TI company, delivering a high-fidelity listening experience. The gain can reach 16dB, with dynamic range of 124dB. Additionally, the absence of knobs and the adoption of fully digital control mean there will be no hardware aging issues like noise from worn-out knobs, resulting in a longer lifespan compared to conventional knob-based sound cards. The headphone jack supports a maximum current of 700mA, allowing for transient output. It can drive any high-power headphones and accurately capture low-frequency sounds, ensuring all musical details are preserved. With the newest technology from Platane, the UP1 employs digital synchronous transmission for seamless signal transfer between mobile OTG and computer USB, providing lossless digital signals for an enhanced audio experience during live streaming. It features automatic synchronization, allowing mobile devices to match the computer's audio sample rate in real-time, eliminating the need for a separate converter. Many audio interface suffer from mismatched data transmission rates between the computer and audio interface, potentially leading to distortion or clipping. To solve this problem, the UP1 has developed a unique asynchronous synchronization function. It can communicate its processing capacity to the computer, which adjusts its data packet transmission rate accordingly, maintaining stability and preventing playback issues due to varied data transfer speeds. With dedicated drivers from Platane, the UP1 enables high-speed digital signal transfer, allowing users to experience minimal latency. It comes equipped with Platane's total Mixer, enabling users to adjust sampling rates, latency, output channels, and other practical functions as needed. Platane has complete hardware and software development and production capabilities for the UP1, ensuring customers need not worry about future upgrades or after-sales service. Attached Thumbnails
