Pulsar Audio releases Pulsar Poseidon, a wild EQ made easy

We recently embarked on a journey to the mystical lands of Greece, not just for the feta and the stunning sunsets, but on a quest to uncover some of the lesser-known secrets of the ancient gods. According to the legend, in his underwater studio deep within the Aegean Sea, the god Poseidon crafted the most harmonious and balanced sounds ever heard by mortal ears. With his trusty trident, he didn’t just rule the waves; he shaped the very frequencies that flowed through them.

Inspired by these ancient stories, we decided to bring a piece of that divine power into the modern world. After much R&D and a few sacrifices to the gods, we’re thrilled to introduce Pulsar Poseidon—a groundbreaking tool that channels the infinite power of Poseidon himself!

Pulsar Poseidon is a wild EQ modeled after a rare and mythic console, turned into an easy-to-use modern tool.

The console’s EQ that inspired this plugin has been at the heart of many iconic recordings. Artists like David Bowie, Queen, Elton John, and Metallica have all laid down tracks that were shaped by its exceptional EQ.

Present in very few studios, this console is renowned for being highly musical. One key component behind its mojo is its unique band interactions – pushing the gain of one band can lead to EQ curves that would need three or four bands on a parametric EQ.

The interactions between its bands are so unique that we’ve never seen a digital reproduction that makes them simple to use. So we decided to nail it ourselves with an on-screen EQ curve that reacts faithfully to the quirks of the original hardware, making Pulsar Poseidon easier to master than any other competitor emulation.
