Electric Love Introduces the Aquatone Overdrive/Distortion

Monday October 30, 2023. 09:23 PM , from Premier Guitar
Electric Love, a venture dedicated to channeling the power of music into life-saving cancer research, has collaborated with industry luminary Brian Wampler on a new effects pedal: the Aquatone.A reimagining of the iconic Boss Blues Driver, Aquatone is no ordinary overdrive pedal. It allows the player to easily switch between lower gain overdrive and higher gain distortion, all while offering an advanced, active 3-band EQ for super flexible tone-shaping possibilities. The Aquatone sports five knobs -- Gain, Volume, Bass, Mids, and Treble – and a two-position toggle switch for selecting Overdrive or High-Gain Distortion modes. The pedal features buffered bypass switching and is powered by a standard 9-volt external DC (no battery compartment). In addition to serving up great tone, the Aquatone pedal serves a bigger purpose: raising funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). All profits from Aquatone sales will go directly to BCRF to fuel ongoing research. Electric Love commits to a minimum donation of $1,000 and will disclose the total donation amount on its Reverb shop. To ensure transparency, a detailed breakdown of contributions generated from each purchase will be shared with customers. In addition to Electric Love and Brian Wampler, this endeavor is backed by an extraordinary league of supporters, including Jake Steffes, Richard Oliver of Amplify Creative, Nate of Sushi Box FX, Claudia from Sketchy Pedals, Gorva Designs, and F5 Metalworks, among others. The Aquatone pedal is the latest project in an ongoing initiative. In 2022, Electric Love embarked on a mission, releasing a trio of innovative pedals that caught the eye of none other than Brian Wampler, founder of Wampler Pedals, Inc. The profound influence of Wampler's own philanthropic initiatives and industry expertise provided the catalyst for this year's collaborative masterpiece, Aquatone. 'I still remember cobbling together a master volume adapter for a Hot Rod Deluxe years ago, guided by a Brian Wampler YouTube tutorial. Fast forward to today, and I'm collaborating with the man himself. It's surreal and incredibly meaningful,' says Ben Carlin, founder of Electric Love. The Aquatone can be purchased for $199.99.For more information, please visit reverb.com.
