Tone Empire debuts LVL-01 machine-learning compressor

Tone Empire is excited to announce LVL-01, the world’s first Machine Learning / A.I. based audio compressor plugin. LVL-01 is an emulation of a custom-built analog Gates Sta-Level compressor. Introduced in 1956, the Gates Sta-Level has become legendary in the audio world for its simplicity of design and reliability of operation. Initially designed for the radio broadcast industry, the Sta-Level is a basic un-gated automatic gain control compressor.

The LVL-01 machine learning algorithms are able to provide a more accurate emulation of this classic hardware than circuit model technology, resulting in a more “analog” sound. Tone Empire has sampled/captured the 6 unique recovery times of their custom gates analog compressor. These are available for the user to choose and switch in real-time in the plugin.

Tone Empire LVL-01 is available now for $79, with an introductory price of $29. It requires macOS 10.13 or later, an AU, VST, or AAX plugin host, and offers native support for both Apple Silicon (M1) and Intel processors.
