Making Video Content Searchable And Discoverable For First Time, Trint Unveils A Game-Changing Video Player That Automatically Attaches An Interactive Transcript To Any Video

Trint revolutionizes video SEO with new tool to be official launched at the annual Global Editors Network Summit in Athens, Greece on June 13

Athens, Greece (Embargoed for June 13, 2019) – The spoken word in video will become searchable for the first time by search engines with the official launch today of a first-of-its-kind embeddable video and transcript player, made possible by artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

Developed by Trint, which was named “the best automated
transcription service” by Eric Lipton of
The New York Times, the Trint Player will be unveiled at the
2019 Global
Editors Network Summit, the leading annual
gathering of media industry executives exploring the future of media and news.
The Trint Player will be used to publish video and interactive transcripts of
the Summit’s major keynotes including Google News Founder Krishna Bharat,
Facebook’s News Partnership Director for EMEA Jesper Doub, Bloomberg Editor-In-Chief
John Micklethwait, and Guardian News & Media Editor-In-Chief Katharine
Viner.

The Trint Player
introduces a never-before-seen level of online video discoverability.
Currently, search engines can only find a video based on words in the title and
a small amount of metadata, relegating the vast majority of videos to the black
hole of dark data on the unsearchable internet. By automatically gluing a
transcript to a video with the Trint Player, a search engine indexing a page
will be able to record all the words from the transcript and show the spoken
words in search results.

Jeff Kofman, CEO and
founder of Trint, notes that videos will make up 80 percent of all
online traffic by 2021, which is why
he sees the Trint Player as a game-changer for video content producers of all
sizes — including major publishers and news sites, brand marketers, vloggers
and podcasters.

“Making video
content searchable and discoverable on Google and Bing has been the Holy
Grail,” said Kofman. “The Trint Player is a totally new way to
communicate. By making it possible for video to be found online, the Trint
Player will help producers make the most of their content by growing their
traffic, audience, engagement and profits.”

Trint was the first
automated transcription service to combine a text editor and an audio/video
player into one easy-to-use tool. Trint uses AI to convert recorded audio to
text with up to 99% accuracy rates. Recorded content is searchable by keyword,
and users can verify the machine-generated transcript and polish it to
perfection in minutes. Trint’s enterprise clients include The Associated Press,
NBCUniversal, The Washington Post, Vice News and Der Spiegel.

With the Trint Player, users can post a video with an interactive transcript with just a few clicks and a simple embed code. As the video plays in the Trint Player, the words being spoken are highlighted in the transcript so viewers can follow along, like karaoke. Users can also click on a word to see that part of a video.

The interactive
transcript also lets online videos be watched without sound, making video
content more accessible to people with hearing, visual and motor impairments.
This is in compliance with WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.0 AA,
a set of international, standardized guidelines on how to make the web
accessible to as many people as possible. The Trint Player can be navigated by
keyboard and screen reader so that users with motor or visual accessibility
requirements can easily use it.

The Trint Player is
currently compatible with videos published on YouTube and Kofman said it will
explore making it compatible with other video hosting sites based on the
feedback it receives from customers using Trint Player version 1.0.

The launch of the Trint
Player comes on the heels of Trint closing $4.5 million in Series A funding, which was led by a follow-on
investment from Horizons Lab, the Hong Kong-based seed fund operated by the
managers of Horizons Ventures, and institutional investors including TechNexus and The Associated Press.
