I trust this $9 iPhone screen cleaner because it’s what the Apple Store uses

![]() Although Apple doesn’t officially promote a screen cleaner in its store, there are tons of clues online that Apple Store employees commonly use one brand to keep its many screens streak- and fingerprint-free. This was confirmed to me by a friend who once worked at one of Apple’s retail outlets, as well as widespread video evidence on TikTok. If it’s good enough for them, I’ll take that recommendation. It’s from a brand named Whoosh, and its orange packaging looks like it was made for fans of Taylor Swift’s new album. But it works. I’ve been using it and can report that the screen cleaner does an excellent job, and not just on my Apple devices, but also on my TV and anything else with a screen. Simon Jary One quick pass is enough to get prints and streaks out of your eyeline. The trick—as with all screen cleaners—is not to use too much and always spray onto the cloth, not directly on the screen. The formula is alcohol- and ammonia-free and safe to use around pets and kids, and falls under Apple’s approved cleaning agents. It’s not a disinfectant, but it will help to remove most germs and bacteria from the surfaces of the devices it cleans. There are several options to choose from, but this $9 travel cleaning kit bundle is my go-to, with a 1 fl oz bottle and microsuede cloth. It’s small enough to fit in a pocket, and a bottle can last me months of regular cleaning thanks to its fine-mist nozzle. Whoosh says its cloth can be reused 50 times, but if you care for it well, you can extend its life much longer. And when you need a new one, you can buy a pack of three Whoosh cloths for $13. You can get a 500ml spray bottle of Whoosh with a cloth for $20, the same price as a single Apple Polishing Cloth. Or if you have as many devices as an Apple Store, the 950ml refill pack is just $40. Most bottles are 100 percent recyclable and even the wipes are biodegradable and come in a metal-free foil package. Of course, you can find plenty of cheaper screen-cleaner sprays, but for me (and Apple), Whoosh ticks the right boxes. And with its bright orange aesthetic, you’ll be ready for Taylor Swift’s new era, too. Buy Whoosh from $8.99
