Apple Watch Series 11 and Ultra 3 pack in more battery life
Monday September 22, 2025. 07:03 PM , from Mac Daily News
![]() This year’s new Apple Watch lineup includes a new Apple Watch SE 3 ($249 and up), a Series 11 with a big battery boost ($399 and up) and an Ultra 3 ($799 and up) with emergency satellite connectivity and longer battery life. Nicole Nguyen for The Wall Street Journal: My biggest gripe with the Apple Watch has always been battery life. After a decade of models with an 18-hour battery, the Series 11 finally makes the jump to 24 hours. In my own testing, I took the watch off its charger at 7:40 a.m. and at 7:40 p.m. — the next day — it was only down to 10%. Need a new one? In the past, I’ve recommended saving money on previous or refurbished models. But given this year’s significant improvements to battery and glass durability, it’s worth buying new. As you move up in price, the watches have better screens and more health sensors, though the SE did get a sensor boost this year. Here’s the rundown: • SE 3, the basics ($249 and up): Smaller display, sleep-apnea detection, wrist temperature for health and ovulation tracking • Series 11, the just-right model ($399 and up): All of the above, plus hypertension alerts, ECG app, blood oxygen, water temperature and depth • Ultra 3, the adventurous chunkster ($799): All of the above, plus satellite connectivity, more reliable GPS and multiday battery life MacDailyNews Take: Apple Watch Ultra 3, especially, is an amazing piece of technology!
