Apple releases tvOS 26

tvOS 26 brings a vibrant look to Apple TV, delivering a fresh and expressive experience.
tvOS 26 is now available for download through the Settings app on Apple TV. Navigate to System > Software Update to install the update. Apple TV users with automatic updates enabled will receive tvOS 26 automatically.
tvOS 26 introduces the Liquid Glass design, aligning with Apple’s other operating systems for a consistent look across platforms.
The Apple TV app features new poster art, an updated interface showcasing more movies and shows simultaneously, and displays user profiles on wake for quick access to personalized settings and recommendations.
With Apple Music Sing, an iPhone can be used as a microphone, supporting Lyrics Translation and Lyrics Pronunciation. The FaceTime app now offers customizable contact photos, and Live Captions are available in French, German, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, and Spanish.
New Aerial screen savers filmed in India are included, with options to customize screen savers by category and designate any AirPlay-compatible speaker as a permanent Apple TV speaker.
tvOS 26 supports the 2015 Apple TV HD and all Apple TV 4K models, though the Liquid Glass design requires a second-generation Apple TV 4K or later.
