With dimensions of 4 x 2.8 x 0.34 inches (10.2 × 7.1 x 0.86cm) centimetres, it is also perfectly matched to iPhones that support magnetic wireless charging (iPhone 12 and later). At 4.3oz (122g), the MagGo Slim 5K is also very light. Despite its minimal dimensions, Anker has included a USB-C port, a four-LEDs battery indicator, and a power button. Test performance With a capacity of 5,000mAh (19.35Wh), the Anker 5K Slim performed impressively in our tests. Starting with an iPhone 16 Pro down to 0% charge, the power bank returned it to 77% before it too was spent. This measures up well against other 5K magnetic power banks we have tested, exactly matching the significantly thicker (0.6-inch) ESR Qi2 5K MagSlim, although that power bank features a kickstand that the Anker Nano 5K Slim lacks. Only the Belkin BoostCharge Pro Magnetic Power Bank Qi2 beat it, and then only marginally at 79%. The closest power bank in terms of thinness, the Baseus PicoGo Ultra-Slim 5K is only 0.02 inches deeper but at 71% didn’t measure up in the speed tests. Like its bigger (although still pretty thin at 0.58 inches), higher-capacity sibling, the Anker MagGo 10K Slim, it used Qi2 wireless charging technology so can reach speeds of 15W, which is the same as Apple’s own MagSafe (with which it is compatible) and twice as fast as older 7.5W magnetic power banks. Thomas Bergbold Connect a device to the power bank’s USB-C port and it can wire-charge at 20W if you are in a hurry and have a cable to hand. The battery protection with graphene cooling technology and dual NTC chips adjusts the charge and should ensure a permanent temperature of below 40°C. We noticed this in the summer heatwave with strongly fluctuating charging times. Charging an iPhone 15, we measured a minimum of 22% and a maximum of 32% after 30 minutes. Charging an iPad Pro and MacBook Air M3 with 20W via the USB-C port was also no problem, where we measured 27% and 14% respectively. Charging the MagGo 5K Slim itself took 1.5 hours, also at a 20W input. Thomas Bergbold Price The MagGo 5K Slim is priced at $54.99 / £49.99 / €49,99. It’s available in a few colors—gray, black and white, with some brighter colors possibly later available—depending on where you purchase it. A USB-C charging cable is included in the box. Should you buy the Anker Nano MagGo 5K Slim? Even Anker can’t do magic: The 5K MagGo Slim power bank is record-breakingly thin, but this also comes at the expense of temperature control—particularly noticeable when we tested at the height of the summer heatwave. It gets warmer than thicker alternatives when charging. Fortunately, there is a well-functioning protective circuit, but this leads to a fluctuating charging speed. The extremely slim design of the 5K Nano MagGo Slim is particularly appealing to users who value mobility—while still impressing with fast and powerful performance on its Qi2 magnetic wireless charging pad and USB-C ports.
