Apple announces AppleCare One with multi-device coverage for a flat fee

If you’re constantly worried about dropping, breaking, or losing your Apple gear, AppleCare+ offers peace of mind. In return for a relatively low monthly fee, Apple will repair or replace your device for far less than the cost of buying a new one.

Until now, each Apple device you covered needed a separate plan, which can get pricey. Depending on which devices are being covered, that can cost as much as $40 a month. But starting tomorrow, covering multiple items will get a lot cheaper. Apple has announced a new AppleCare One plan that for $19.99 a month will let users cover up to three devices with “unlimited repairs for accidents like drops and spills, 24/7 priority support from Apple experts, quick and convenient Apple-certified service, and battery coverage.” The new AppleCare One plan also includes theft and loss coverage for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.

Any product that was recently purchased or already covered by AppleCare+ is eligible for AppleCare One, including Vision Pro. Additionally, users can add devices up to four years old (excluding AirPods), provided they’re in good condition. To ensure the latter condition is met, Apple may require a diagnostic check and/or inspection at an Apple Store.

AppleCare+ provides repairs for up to two incidents of theft or loss coverage and unlimited repairs every 12 months for a deductible (on iPhones, for example, screen or back glass damage is $29; other accidental damage is $99; and theft/loss is $149). After three devices are covered, you can add additional devices for $5.99 a month. You can still purchase individual plans as well, which now include theft/loss coverage for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. Those plans start at $2.99 (Apple Watch), $4.99 (iPad), and $9.99 (iPhone).
