New Transcend MagSafe SSD expands iPhone file storage options

Creators who need to expand storage on their iPhone have another option in Transcend's ESD420, a pocket-sized SSD with a MagSafe-compatible attachment point.Transcend SSDThe ESD420 is capable of speeds up to 20Gbps over USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 when used with compatible hardware. It uses SLC cache technology for read and write performance up to 2,000MB/s.Apple devices don't support USB 3.2 Gen 2.2, so transfers on iPhone or Mac will be limited to 10 gigabits per second max. Transcend says the ESD420 supports 4K ProRes video recording directly from iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max models.
