Apple faces iCloud lawsuit after after judge reverses victory

After initially dismissing a proposed class action lawsuit over Apple's allegedly forcing users to use iCloud, a judge has now accepted further evidence and ruled that the case must continue.iCloud logoOriginally filed in March 2024, the class action complaint accused Apple of violations the Sherman Act and the Clayton act. The allegation is that Apple has established 'an illegal monopoly' because of its requiring Apple device users to use its iCloud backup.A year later in March 2025, US District Judge Eumi Lee in San Jose, California, dismissed the case.
