iOS 19 rumored to drop support for three iPhone models

iOS 19 rumored to drop support for three iPhone models
Apple’s iPhone XR
We’re now just over two months from Apple’s iOS 19 reveal at WWDC25. According to a fresh rumor this week, iOS 19 will reportedly discontinue support for three iPhone models: the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max. These devices all hit the market in September 2018.
Chance Miller for 9to5Mac:

This rumor comes from a private and anonymous account on X that regularly shares accurate information about Apple’s software platforms. The account has correctly leaked information about upcoming Apple software updates on countless occasions, including details about iOS 18 compatibility last year.
As for iPadOS 19, today’s rumor says that the update will drop support for the iPad (7th generation), which was released in September 2019 and is powered by the A10 Fusion chip.
Even if the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR don’t support iOS 19, they will continue to receive software updates from Apple.

MacDailyNews Take: If you’re still rocking a 2018 iPhone, it’s (past) time to start thinking about getting a modern iPhone regardless of iOS 19 support.
