Analysts revisit Apple stock price targets amid AI failures, trade issues
Monday March 24, 2025. 09:09 PM , from Mac Daily News
![]() Just last week, CEO Tim Cook reportedly initiated an unusual reshuffling of his senior leadership team, appointing Mike Rockwell, the executive behind Vision Pro, to lead product development for the companies much-lampooned Siri digital assistant. This shakeup came on the heels of a botched update to deliver Apple Intelligence capabilities to Siri and setbacks in rolling out AI-enhancing features intended to boost sales of iPhones, iPads, and Macs. Martin Baccardax for TheStreet : Wedbush analyst Dan Ives, a committed Apple bull who carries a $325 price target and an outperform rating on the tech giant, estimates its AI delays will remove around 10 million iPhone handset sales from its fiscal 2025 tally. But he sees that total improving over the following fiscal year, which begins in October. Morgan Stanley analyst Erik Woodring, who reiterated his overweight rating and $252 price target in a note published Monday, is seeing an increase in China-based hardware production in March. But he argues this likely results from trade-war issues between Washington and Beijing. “While we highlighted increased iPhone assembly visibility and China’s electronics subsidies as potential upside risks last month, we believe the increase this month reflects Apple pulling forward production to mitigate U.S./China tariffs,” he added. [Apple CFO] Kevan Parekh, meanwhile, said Apple’s current-quarter revenue would likely rise in the low- to mid-single-digits percent, an advance that likely translates to a tally of between $91.7 billion and $95.3 billion MacDailyNews Take: Again, while it will take time for the company to condense its Apple Intelligence vaporware, we don’t believe the impact of U.S. import tariffs on Apple will ultimately amount to much if anything. Anyone who thinks Apple won’t get significant, meaningful U.S. import tariff exemptions hasn’t been paying attention. Profit from the panic of the uninformed and misinformed. – MacDailyNews, March 19, 2025 Expect specific exemptions from U.S. import tariffs for important Apple products. – MacDailyNews, February 2, 2025 Please help support MacDailyNews — and enjoy subscriber-only articles, comments, chat, and more — by subscribing to our Substack: macdailynews.substack.com.
