‘Silo’ star Rebecca Ferguson offers promising update on season 2 on Apple TV+

Apple TV+ in June announced that “Silo” has been renewed for a second season.
“Silo” is the story of the last ten thousand people on earth, their mile-deep home protecting them from the toxic and deadly world outside. However, no one knows when or why the silo was built and any who try to find out face fatal consequences. Rebecca Ferguson stars as Juliette, an engineer, who seeks answers about a loved one’s murder and tumbles onto a mystery that goes far deeper than she could have ever imagined, leading her to discover that if the lies don’t kill you, the truth will.

[B]usy as she is, this is currently Dune/Mission Impossible star Rebecca Ferguson’s main gig, and she has an update on season 2 of Silo.
Season 2 of Silo has already been filmed and is in post-production. Ferguson says she believes that season 2 will be out in 2024, meaning it would be probably a year and a half between seasons, rather than the 2+ years that some shows take in the streaming era.
There appears to be a long term plan about how the show is going to play out, which includes adapting the entire trilogy from author Hugh Howey:
“I believe the show has an ending, and I know when that is. So, that’s the answer. You’ll find out when the show’s done. Actually, to be honest, I don’t think it’s a secret. I mean, the books are the books, and the three books are divided into four seasons. So I believe — unless any Apple person is gonna jump on — I think we’re absolutely fine to say Season 1 we’ve done, Season 2 is shot and coming out, and we’re now looking at green-lighting Seasons 3 and 4. I think we would film them maybe together, and that will be the end.”
