Apple releases new firmware for USB-C Apple Pencil

Tuesday April 30, 2024. 11:51 PM , from Mac Daily News
Apple Pencil with USB-C port.
Apple released a new firmware update today for the USB-C Apple Pencil launched last year. The update bumps the version number from 10M5164 to 10M6060 (37377.37377.16.0). Unfortunately, there are no official details about what features, bug fixes, or improvements this update brings, as Apple doesn’t provide release notes for Apple Pencil software.
The USB-C Apple Pencil closely resembles the Apple Pencil 2, but it’s shorter and uses a hidden USB-C port for charging and pairing. Unlike other Apple Pencils, it lacks wireless charging and some features like pressure sensitivity, making it a more affordable option.

MacDailyNews Note: Updating the USB-C Apple Pencil is straightforward. Simply connect it to your iPad using a USB-C cable and turn on the iPad. This should trigger the update download automatically. There’s no way to manually force the update.
